On the 6th August 2026 The Shoreline was honoured to host the Cowper Aged Care Forum, welcoming Pat Conaghan MP and Senator the Hon. Anne Ruston.
It was a privilege to host Senator Anne Ruston, who serves as the Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, Shadow Minister for Disability and The National Disability Insurance Scheme, Shadow Minister for Sport and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate.
The morning kicked off with a tour of The Shoreline’s latest independent living residences, The Watermark apartments, with Senator Anne Ruston admiring the superior quality and attention to detail of the fitout, with the gorgeous ocean views adding even more wow factor.
After then touring The Shoreline’s residential aged care facilities, representatives from a wide range of aged care organisations came together to discuss the future of aged care, shared experiences, raised important concerns and offered constructive ideas for positive change.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity to have Senator Anne Ruston hear firsthand from aged care providers across our region, with discussions focused on the impacts of financial sustainability and sector reforms, workforce shortages and service accessibility, the growing complexity of care and clinical challenges, compliance, administration and regulatory burden, and maintaining quality care while meeting increasing consumer expectations and strengthening community confidence.
Collaboration and open conversations like these are vital as we continue working towards the best possible outcomes for older Australians, their families and those who care for them.
