Residential Care Beds Approved
April 2019
The Bachrach Naumburger Group is very excited to announce that it has been granted 120 new residential care places in The Shoreline development that will commence construction at the end of 2019.
On 5 March 2019, the Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care and Minister for Indigenous Health, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP announced the allocation of 13,500 new residential care places and $60 million in capital grants across Australia.
Steve Gooley General Manager of the Bachrach Naumburger Group of Companies was very happy that 4 years of very hard work has paid off and that the allocation of the bed licenses through the Federal Government will allow the much awaited The Shoreline development to proceed as planned in late 2019.
AJ Civil Projects will complete the early civil contracting works by May 2019. Final design plans for the Residential Care Facility and Buildings C and D of the independent living units are currently being finalised with construction certificate plans about to be lodged with Coffs Harbour City Council. “The great news for the senior residents of Coffs Harbour is that we have already commenced this project so we should have the residents moving in towards the end of 2021”.
The Residential Care Facility will be a ‘state of the art’ 120 bed ‘high needs’ facility. The development will also have 18 independent living, ground level townhouses and 143 apartments in two apartment buildings. The facility will also boast a resort style community center, a pool, walking trail, extensive gardens and recreation facilities in a secure gated community.
“The building jobs created through this development will be astronomical”. “Once the construction is completed and the facility is fully operational it will be a real aged care and health hub that will employ in excess of 130 full time locals. The federal government has underpinned both the construction jobs and the health care jobs by making available this funding to senior people that live on the Coffs Coast. The “Luxury Retirement Living” that Shoreline will bring to the North Coast will be something that the region has not yet seen. We are enormously thrilled to get started with this very exciting development”.
