Crown Furniture: redefining the meaning of lifestyle
The Shoreline is proud to be associated with Crown Furniture, who sourced, styled and designed furniture to meet the needs of the residents. The result being comfortable, stylish furniture to fit the luxury lifestyle of the community village.
May 2023 – Crown Furniture Case Study

With views of the Pacific Ocean and a plethora of dining, relaxation and entertainment options at your fingertips, one of the hardest decisions faced by residents at The Shoreline Coffs Harbour is simply deciding what to do first.
A coffee catch up with friends at the café, a blow dry inhouse day spa and salon, a few laps in the swimming pool or a cheeky aperitif at the bar – the choices of what to see and do are seemingly endless.
The team at Bachrach Naumburger Group knew that they wanted to redefine the meaning of lifestyle for older community members, but they knew they couldn’t do it alone. First came the professional help, Reddog Architects in Brisbane – who were chosen to specify the furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the project – but next came the real experts, the residents themselves.
But how do you do that in the midst of COVID-19 restrictions? The answer came in the form of a road trip.
With members of the Crown Furniture team packing up a van full of samples and heading up the coast, an open display was set up for The Shoreline team and their residents to inspect, test and provide feedback on.

Having products at their fingertips allowed staff and residents to see, touch and experience each piece of furniture, imagining the spaces that would be created. Allowing Reddog Architects to finalise the products, colours, and fabrics for the project.
As restrictions began to lift, members of The Shoreline team made their way to Sydney to see Crown Furniture in action, touring the factory and visiting local facilities that had been furnished by the team. Being able to see the process from design through to creation and installation revealed that Crown Furniture was the best choice for the project, with Mick Carah, Steve Gooley and their team officially appointing Crown Furniture as their furniture supplier for the aged care and retirement buildings in December 2021.
Next came the construction process, one that was not without delays as persistent and extensive wet weather events causing significant construction and commissioning delays. Crown Furniture worked closely with The Shoreline team, keeping updated on construction progress to ensure each piece of furniture was delivered and placed exactly when it was needed.
Now almost two years later, the residents have moved in, and The Shoreline is living up to its dream – redefining the meaning of lifestyle for every resident as they live out a vibrant retirement in Coffs Harbour’s most exclusive, state of the art community living facilities and amenities.
